Collecting and visualizing data is a challenging but fundamental skill for designers. With a personal interest in traditional Chinese cultural heritage, I chose to document the 2024 Chinese New Year celebration in Boston, a long-standing event that brings people of diverse backgrounds together. This year, being the year of the dragon, a significant symbol in Chinese culture, the celebration held special meaning. After photographing the event, I used 300 photos I took from the celebration to make a large size poster, Dragon Year. Nine riso posters were developed after as the complementary posters to present Chinese new year elements.
